GEOINT Expertise

GeoData’s team of GIS Analysts continues to play an integral role in the maintenance of "Map of the World Feature Datasets" for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), specifically through GEOINT Pinpoint Content Maintenance. Our team of Analysts comprises a pool of robust technical skills and wide-ranging expertise, including experience in areas-of-interest from all corners of the globe, multiple database formats and specifications, and various final product types of both digital and hard-copy data. Additionally, our Analysts’ backgrounds reflect direct experience in meeting and exceeding NGA’s exacting data quality standards. Our team excels in synthesizing elements of its broad skill base and leveraging that expertise toward the efficient execution of every project stage, including comprehensive Quality Assurance processes in compliance with ISO standards.

Geographic Expertise

For over a decade, GeoData's GeoNames Analysts have been instrumental in completing numerous projects for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) through The Geographic Names Program, as well as through subcontracts with prime defense contractors. Our GeoNames experts have been instrumental in updating the Geographic Names Database (GNDB), modifying existing and adding new names from native source material, utilizing maps, feature data and imagery for projects throughout the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, Russia, Southeast Asia, and Asia/Pacific regions. GeoData's Analysts have also completed numerous projects in the Americas, Western Europe, and Eastern Europe. Our experts utilize multiple resources, including a variety of software and our proprietary QC software to complete these projects.

Linguistic Expertise

GeoData's experts have native knowledge in over twenty languages and more than twenty dialects covering all the geographic regions listed above. Examples of our language expertise include Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Farsi, Pashtu, Urdu, Hebrew, Korean, Vietnamese, Spanish, Greek, Armenian, Russian, Ukrainian, French, Italian, Slavic, Germanic and Scandinavian languages. All projects were completed for NGA in accordance with the rules and regulations of the US Board on Geographic Names (BGN), Romanization Systems for all languages involved. It is also important to point out that most of our linguists are expert language instructors, as they routinely provide intensive training to their colleagues in order to help them achieve the functional literacy necessary to work on projects involving their native languages. A number of our linguists have extensive experience in teaching languages for several government agencies.
